Intraday DAX CFD versus cash DAX CFD

Hi,

Whereas intraday DAX CFD has 0.8 point spread between 8AM till 10PM, cash DAX CFD has 1 point spread between 8AM till 5.30PM, 1.5 point spread between 5.30PM till 9.59PM,
and 6 points spread between 9.59AM till 10PM .

Could you explain how covering is performed for these 2 CFD on related Futures and why there are such différences on spread ?
Is there no dealing desk in one case and dealing desk in other case ? Is liquidity the same for these 2 CFD ?

Thanks,

Intraday

Hi,

both instruments are quoted the same based on the future.
There is no difference in terms of execution or liquidity.

The difference is, that the daily CFD has to be closed before the end of the day.

Hi Dominic,

I have a strategy running on DAX cash CFD which I launch on Sunday evening & I stop on Friday evening. Orders are enabled only during Futures open hours
(8h-21h59h) to benefit from tied DAX cash CFD spread.

Currently, each day a new & different contract is generated for intraday DAX CFD.
Could you create a single generic intraday DAX CFD contract which would be tradable between 8h to 22h during weekdays and would rely on corresponding daily intraday DAX CFD contracts ?

Thanks,

Intraday

Hi Intraday,

I am afraid this is not possible. You will have to change the Daily CFDs every day.

An option would be to use the Dax Future or the (new) Mini Dax Future at Eurex.
Here you have the trading hours from 8-22 limited by the exchange.

Hi Dominic,

Thanks for you suggestion with CFD futures. What are the spreads and overnight costs for CFD DAX futures & CFD mini DAX futures ?

Thanks,

Intraday

Hi Intraday,

Might be a misunderstanding. I meant trading the real futures direcly at Eurex.
The spreads would be the market spread, you can see the order book (Level 2).
FDAX has a minimum spread of 0.5 points, the Mini Dax has a minimum spread of 1 point.

WHS does not apply a fee if you hold positions overnight.

Hi Dominic,

I would like to do it with my CFD account on CFD indices futures.
Where can I find CFD for mini-DAX futures in Nanotrader ?
Could you point me link in your internet site where I can find spread, timetables & overnigth costs for CFD indices & CFD futures ?

Thanks,

Intraday

Hi Intraday,

Unfortunately we do not offer MIni DAX CFD. We have a Index Future CFD on the DAX (1 point = 1 € per CFD) with a wider spread but no financing costs.
https://www.whselfinvest.com/en/CFD_Mar ... hp?sheet=8
It's the instrument of choice if you want to keep the position for days or weeks (or even months) in order to avoid the financing.
For pure intraday trading you should stick to the Germany 30 CFD or the Germany 30 Tages (Daily) CFD with an even better spread.

Kind regards,
Timo

Hi Timo,

Good to hear from you & thanks for the link on CFD tables :-)
I agree with you that no financing costs on CFD futures make it reference instrument for medium & long term strategies.
Where can i find the current financing costs for long & short position on CFD cash indices ?

Currently we can not launch a strategy in evening on Germany 30 Tages for the next morning day, and a weekly automated strategy can not be planed on Germany 30 Tages
CFD which is a different & new contract every day but with tighter spread.
Woud you agree to submit following enhancement to your new CFD provider with creation of a unique & generic DAX CFD contract which would be tradable
only between 8h to 22h during weekdays and would automatically rely on corresponding daily DAX 30 Tages CFD contracts ?

With regards,

Gerald

HI Gerald,

As said above, this is not possible.
We are offering a Germany 30 CFD, a Germany 30 Daily CFD and a Germany 30 Future CFD.
We additionally have access to the FDAX and the MIni Dax on Eurex.
So basically clients can choose between 5 Dax Instruments.
I hope you agree that there is not much sense in adding a 6th to our offer.

In order to run you strategies, the easiest would be to have one account per strategy.
Then you can use on both the Germany 30 CFD and let it run from Sunday to Friday without any problem.

Dominic
