TimeEntry Express - live vs backtest

I'm using the TimeEntry Express indicator to enter the market at a specific time e.g. 1430 for half past two. The indicator provides the right trigger in backtest but in real life trading it enters the marker one bar later. Anyone having the samen experience? I'd like to dive into this, but I don't have the source code. Anyone having this available for me?

thanks, Jippey

Hi Jippey,

can you provide me the indicator? Then I will have a look into this.

Thanks!
Cheers

Unfortunately I don't have the source code, requested it. So we'll have to wait until somebody provides me with it

Hello,

You are right that the TimeEntry code will have a delay in live trading compared to back testing. To solve this, we have programmed an alternative TimeEntry signal which no longer has this delay when using this in combination with live trading. I have attached it to this post.

Hope it helps!

Hi Jean,

This indicator allows you to set a specific time at which you would like to enter into a position. The other parameter is whether this should be a long or a short position. It won't be possible to set both as it's you who is determining what direction to go.
This code could of course form as the foundations to be further developed to include a further condition which will give you a buy or a sell condition at a predetermined time, defined in the strategy.
